Scan wins International Red Dot Design Award  Danish wood burning stove specialist Scan, part of The Jøtul Group, ranks in the international design world’s top division together with Ligne Roset, Villeroy & Boch, Artemide, Design House Stockholm, Mercedes-Benz, and Alfa Romeo. The wood-burning stove series Scan 58, has received the highly acclaimed "red dot" honourable mention for outstanding design. "red dot" dates back to 1955 and is awarded annually for outstanding design across several categories.

The Scan 58 stove concept has innovative design from Harrit and Sørensen, one of Denmark’s leading design houses. The stoves have an elliptical shape that creates its own special expression, highlighted by the different variants with curved side glass panels to give a unique view to the fire. A choice of three different burn chambers combined with three different base modules, in addition to a heat storing soapstone and an elegant glass top make this a truly distinctive concept.

The Scan 58 Series launched in June 2008, has been a huge sales success. Scan has been developing environmentally friendly technology for fireplaces for many years. Not only is wood a renewable form of energy and wood burning CO2 neutral, but Scan’s clean burning stoves need significantly less wood than older non-clean burning options. Scan’s clean-burning stoves have double combustion systems enabling up to 90% of the gases and particles in smoke to be converted to heat, giving minimal smoke emission and more heat.

Since the company’s founding in 1978, Scan AS has always made heating furniture of the finest quality. A combination of Danish design and a focus on details have made Scan into one of Scandinavia’s leading brands within fireplaces and are today established all around the world.
