In Norway we have the world’s highest requirements on particle emissions from wood burning. Research shows that most of us are burning wood on low efficiency.

The Norwegian test method requires that the stoves must burn environmentally friendly in all impact areas, this means that they must have a very low emission of dust also when burning moderately. These regulations were introduced by the Norwegian authorities in 1997 and the results are impressing. In 2006 alone the particle emissions were reduced with 14.000 tonnes (source: Statistics Norway).
